Chandler Rhea focuses on tax preparation, planning and consulting.
A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Rhea specializes in individual tax preparation, planning and consulting for young and growing families, established small business owners and baby boomers looking towards retirement.
Ms. Rhea brings 25 years of tax experience to the table. After serving in associate positions and then acquiring a CPA firm, she founded Chandler Rhea, CPA, LLC to help clients with their individual tax needs. Since starting her firm in 2004, Ms. Rhea has helped clients solve their tax problems and implement tax planning.
Prior to starting Chandler Rhea, CPA, LLC, Marcia Rhea served as a registered financial advisor with HD Vest. Through her ten-year association with the national investment firm, she planned and implemented tax and retirement strategies for hundreds of clients. Her tenure with the company earned her a HD Vest National Service Award for her outstanding service to her clients.
Ms. Rhea graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. degree from The College of Charleston in Charleston, SC. She earned her post-graduate Accounting degree Cum Laude from The College of Charleston and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1996. Her honors included the prestigious College of Charleston Alumni Academic Award, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society, and the Accounting GPA Top Finalist Award as well as top achievements in English and Spanish.
Ms. Rhea has been featured in The CPA Report, The SC Business Review, Charleston Regional Business Journal, Woman to Woman Magazine, Channel 5, among other media outlets.
Very active in the community, Ms. Rhea has served on the board of directors for The Citadel and The Charleston International Film Festival. She is a former Alumni President of The College of Charleston Film Club and a member of the Beaufort Film Society. She is a member of the SC Association of CPA’s, SC Tax Council and the Drake Tax Advisory Group. Marcia and her husband are also very active in their church, participating in many community-wide events.
Ms. Rhea is also an author and award-winning screenwriter. She enjoys writing, movies, travel, current events and spending time with her family.
Fun Fact: One of her essays about the rigors of “tax season” caught the eye of a CBS Early Show producer and finished in the Top Three in the network’s national essay competition about the changing workplace.
